After a long and hard stretch of time for Windows users who have had to cope with Microsoft’s highly unpopular Windows Vista, the hopeful saviour of Microsoft is coming up for release very soon – October 22, 2009 to be exact.
While most people dread any change to the operating system which they have grown accustomed to – myself included – there are some very promising facts about the newest version of Windows that is to be released.
Pros
- Operates much faster than Vista, and even faster than Windows XP
- Including faster boot-up time
- More appealing graphical user interface (GUI)
- Notification system has been
- New taskbar is designed for better multitasking
- Compatible with Vista and XP applications
- Less intrusive notification system (one of the biggest complaints from users with Windows Vista)
- More efficient and intuitive power management system for notebook computers
- A new feature allows you to access your photos, music, videos, or other multimedia content from the internet; eliminates the need for USB flash drives
- Easier home or office networking options
Cons
- Not easily upgraded from Windows XP
- Some gamers have reported various problems (irrelevant for business users)
- Windows Explorer has some very minor display issues
