What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the name of the service that publishes your website on the World Wide Web (WWW). It is essentially “leasing” property in a global shopping mall - the internet. Every website or web page is “hosted” somewhere in order for it to be available to internet users.

What is a domain name?
A domain name is your address on the internet - it allows users to access your website and send emails to you. An example of the Whetham Solutions domain name is quite simply, whethamsolutions.com, not including the “www.” in front. The domain name whethamsolutions.com will provide an address for the Whetham Solutions website, as well as an address for the destination of our emails, and other types of more advanced web services. The “www.” lets your web browser know that you are communicating with the “World Wide Web” portion of the domain name, known as the website or web page. This differs from an email address, where one would specify: . The prefix “office@” that precedes the domain name lets your e-mail program know that you are communicating with the e-mail portion of the domain name.

Can I do my own website updates?
Yes. As part of your website design package, you may specify that you would like to perform your own website updates. Whetham Solutions will set you up with a Content Management System (CMS) that will give you the ability to update your website contents.

How long does it take for my website to be completed?
The timeline for the completion of each website depends on the scope of it. However, for a Basic or Premium Design Package, your website will typically be launched within 14 business days after receiving all of your website content. For an Ultimate or Enterprise Design Package, your website will be launched within approximately 18 business days.

Can I switch to Whetham Solutions from another website provider?
Yes. If you are currently using another web host provider and/or web designer, Whetham Solutions can either migrate your web hosting to our servers, or update your website on your current web host provider’s server.

Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. Whetham Solutions offers a 10% discount on all website packages (i.e. Premium Design Package) and graphic design projects for charitable organizations.
